Tonio

Tonio, a hound mix, came to Sit Happens RVA from the Richmond Animal League. His new family recognized right away that he had some anxiety issues. His separation anxiety of fear of riding in the car made Tonio’s struggle an everyday occurrence.  He also needed some basic obedience training. With the 7-day board and train program, Tonio got the foundation he needed to settle into his new home. He learned how sit, stay, and walk on a leash. He learned to love his “place” and  even started to jump into car, even if reluctantly, all on his own.

Tonio still suffered sever crate anxiety.  Luckily his new family was willing to stick it out. With a bit of an experimental approach Tonio was able to get comfortable in his crate.  Now he can even spend the day in it while he parents are at work. Tonio’s anxiety is a work in progress but Sit Happens RVA has helped his family learn to ease him through it to let him live a happy, stress free life. He even has started to enjoy his car rides!
